The Deputy President emphasised the strong bilateral relations between South Africa and Japan, particularly in the areas of politics, economics, and culture. He also acknowledged Japan's commitment to supporting African development through initiatives like TICAD, which focuses on peace, stability, private sector growth, infrastructure, human resources, climate change, and education.

"South Africa and Japan enjoy good bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations. Both countries remain committed to the agenda that seeks to make the world a better place for generations to come," said Deputy President Mashatile.
