H.E Deputy Chairs Andrey Denisov, Lyudmila Skakovskaya, and Galina Kulikova,

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, and friends,

Good afternoon! It is a great honor to join you here in Moscow, just ahead of the BRICS 2024 Russia, for the annual launch of “UPanda Cinema” and to participate in this BRICS film and cultural exchange event. On behalf of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations on the success of this event, and warmly welcome all our distinguished guests and friends gathered here today.

In recent years, cultural exchange and cooperation between China, Russia, and other BRICS countries have grown increasingly stronger. The signing of the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between China and BRICS countries has laid a robust institutional foundation for our cultural exchanges. Through various cultural and artistic events, partnerships between professional institution, and co-productions of film and television works, the space for cooperation continues to expand. Currently, China shares over 200hours of TV dramas, films, documentaries, and animated series annually with Russian and Russian-speaking audiences. Productions like 'Like a Flowing River' and The Wandering Earth have sparked great enthusiasm among viewers after being broadcast in Russia. Likewise, several Russian productions, including Masha and the Bear, Pushkin, and How I Became Russian, have gained widespread popularity in China. These successful collaborations showcase the dynamic vitality of cultural cooperation within BRICS countries, fostering deeper mutual understanding and affinity among our peoples.

Communication brings color to civilizations, and learning enriches culture. In the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and the celebration of diversified cultures, during this BRICS film and cultural exchange event, “UPanda Cinema” from China has collaborated with seven media outlets across BRICS countries, including Digital Television Russia, Jio Platforms (India), TV BRICS (South Africa), and Rede TV(Brazil). Together, we are presenting the “Beauty of China: BRICS Showcase Season”, which features 17 Chinese television programs such as Three-Body, Panda Kingdom, and The Global Trade Power Rising from Yiwu. These programs aim to provide BRICS audiences with a captivating and immersive audiovisual experience.

We hope that through this event, the people of BRICS countries will gain a deeper understanding of China’s development and transformation in the new era, the Chinese people’s enduring pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty, and the rich, diverse charm of Chinese culture. Our goal is to help everyone appreciate and understand China in a more vivid and comprehensive manner. We also aspire for film and television to serve as a platform for enhancing cooperation among media outlets in BRICS nations. This includes strengthening joint efforts in the research and application of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and virtual reality. By leveraging the power of new media and technology, we can work together to drive high-quality development in the media industry in this era of digital civilization. Furthermore, we hope that BRICS countries, each with its own rich heritage, will continue to uphold the spirit of mutual respect, equality, and shared benefit. Let us deepen cultural exchange and mutual learning, foster stronger people-to-people connections, and continually weave a vibrant tapestry of friendship based on cooperation and shared success.

Lastly, I would like to once again extend my heartfelt congratulations on the successful launch of “UPanda Cinema” and the BRICS film and cultural exchange event!

Thankyou all!
